A Story About the Power of Frustration

It all started with the daily use of Symfony UX Icons. I gradually got lost in which icon I actually used in which project. The absolute peak of frustration came when I realized that I had installed visually identical icons from three different packages into a single project. Chaos, duplication, and wasted time. That's exactly when the idea for ycon.cc was born. And I was also inspired by my colleague's project emojiz.app ;)

From Chef's Spoon to Symfony

Hi, I'm Jozef Môstka. My path to code wasn't straightforward — I'm a trained chef, but I didn't stay in the kitchen for long. I wrote my first programs when I was 6, but I was truly captivated by the world of GameMaker at sixteen.

I realized that I wasn't interested in games, but in the tools that create them. Today, after 24 years in professional development, ycon.cc is my personal territory. A place where corporate rules end and the pure joy of creation begins.

"Searching for icons without semantics is like looking for 'the love of your life' and the search engine offers you an e-shop with a lifetime warranty on refrigerators."
